Cancer Fundamentals: Biology, Risk Factors, and Survivorship

Build a foundation in cancer biology and the cancer continuum

Cancer Fundamentals is an accessible introduction to cancer biology. You’ll examine how normal and cancer cells differ, the biological characteristics that enable cancer to develop and progress, and the role of cancer risk factors in incidence and mortality.

The course follows the cancer continuum through prevention, screening, classification and treatment. You’ll also explore what cancer survivorship means, the physical and personal effects of cancer, and how cancer knowledge has changed over time.
