How can healthy living support cancer risk reduction?
Healthy Living for Cancer Risk Reduction is a beginner-friendly online course that connects six areas of healthy living: social support, stress management, sleep, physical activity, diet and environmental health. Healthy living may support overall well-being and help lower some cancer risks, but no set of habits can guarantee prevention. If you’re wondering how to reduce cancer risk, the course offers evidence-informed context rather than a one-size-fits-all checklist.
What to eat to prevent cancer? No single food or diet can guarantee prevention. Does exercise reduce cancer risk? You’ll examine the evidence and why physical activity is one part of a broader risk-reduction approach, not a guarantee. The course also explores research on diet and cancer prevention, sleep, stress, social support and environmental exposures. Rather than prescribing a single cancer prevention diet, the course emphasizes practical, informed choices. The course also draws on the lived experience of cancer survivor and patient advocate Loriana Hernández-Aldama, with lessons in preparation, self-advocacy, whole-person care and supportive connections. No lifestyle approach can guarantee cancer prevention, and the course does not replace personalized medical guidance.
