DESCRIPTION

Human Anatomy & Physiology: Levels of Organization (Course 1)

This first course provides a basic overview of the human body. It examines common organizational patterns and terms in anatomy. The course covers the structural organization of the human body at the chemical, cellular, and tissue level.

Who should attend:

  • High school students who want to experience a university-level course
  • Pre-medical and pre-nursing students wanting supplemental material on medical terminology and key concepts
  • Anyone with an interest in human anatomy and physiology

You will be able to:

  • Define anatomy and describe the different anatomical specializations and approaches
  • Explain the basic chemistry of the human body at the atomic and molecular levels
  • Describe different anatomical structures within the integumentary system and dermal layers using proper medical terminology

Dr. Laura Kabiri is a professor at Rice University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston before attending Texas Woman’s University to earn her Master of Science, Doctor of Physical Therapy, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees.
